I have drawn on knowledge of close friends who share my love of Toro. It has resulted in 5 unique parcels that have been expertly combined to produce pure Toro character. Aged in a complex blend of 12 different types of oak from different origens, sizes and toasts before bottle ageing. We are truly excited to take you on this journey to see just where this wine will take us.

Item LinkYoung wines are normally a second thought for many wineries. With Mi Tractor Azul we have searched for amazing old vines from 20 – 40 years old to make a young wine with amazing fruit character, a full palate and a big, yet soft, rounded and juicy finish! Here we give a young wine the attention it deserves using vineyards normally reserved for Crianza and Reserva
Mi Tractor Azul comes from the wonderful regions of Toro and Almansa, two of our favourite regions thanks to the intense pure flavours. Wines made with from dry farmed, ungrafted vineyards planted at altitude and following an organic philosophy. No oak is used in these wines in an attempt to share the pure character of amazing grapes with the world.
It is no secret that we, at Spanish Palate, are obsessed by Toro and its incredible old vines. This is our range of premium Toro wines made to ensure sustainability for these stunning old vines. Incredible vineyards with just a touch of premium oak have helped us produce this absolutely delicious range of Toro wines. Roses like Tempranillo are grown all over but like Tinta de Toro is only found in Toro, black roses are only find in key locations.
Toro is one of the oldest winemaking regions in Spain and has a long history of making great red wines. The grape Tinta de Toro is an evolved form of Tempranillo that has adapted to the extreme cold climate in winter and incredibly hot and dry summers. It is a varietal that produces wines of intense colour with great structure and complex aromas. Many vineyards are well over 100 years old and survived phylloxera. The sandy soils proved a vital ally for these hardy vines during that difficult time. As a consequence of the combined effect of history, climate, soils and varietal, the yields found here are some of the lowest in the world!

Item LinkEl Volquete was the name given the carts that transported hand harvested grapes carefully from the vineyards to the ancient underground cellars all over Spain. It was the first cart to allow the grapes to be “tipped” into the bodegas – a true revelation back in the 1800´s.
